John is a repressed man who is shocked to find himself in middle age, secretly raging at his life as a stay-at-home dad. 观月邨”老板张冠(刘兆铭)看中舞小姐朱凤凰(陈秀珠)，后凤凰答允冠做其黑市情人，却为冠的同父异母之弟张义(夏雨)所悉，但鉴于冠妻叶香琴(南红)的凶悍及妾侍周君丽(卢宛茵)的可怜，只好代冠顶冒，不料竟弄假成真，使兄弟二人反目。另一方面冠与君丽所生的次子张家乐(王书麒)与同父异母之兄张家树为争夺梅晶晶之垂青而交恶，冠与家树遂联手迫义和家乐离开“观月邨”。义与家乐为生计遂自创“阿二粉丝”，谁料一开业便生意滔滔，相反“观月邨”的生意则一落千丈，快要清盘，最后幸得义和家乐联手力挽，祖业得以保存，而二人亦为“亚二一族”吐了一口乌气!
二十世纪七十年代末，生长在老北京胡同的少年冯都（金世佳饰）在小伙伴肖战（李茂饰）的家中，初次与电视机结缘，被荧屏中的世界深深震撼，从此，他一生以电视为事业。冯都的感情却并不是一帆风顺，他与西城（柴碧云饰）互相衷情，却被误会牵绊不肯低头，这一切似乎与冯都的初恋情人伊春（徐小飒饰）有着密不可分的关系。
以2029年为故事背景，讲述了大学教授梁思木，为了查清楚妹妹自杀的原因，通过自己研发的“原始代码”，一次次“穿越”到了妹妹死亡的当天，最终与好兄弟岳凌联手，二人凭借智慧挖掘真相、获得成长的故事。
